{Winter Party}

A few years back my college friends and I started getting together around Christmas time for a girls weekend and it has become a tradition we’ve continued, each taking turns hosting at our houses.  But this past year, I got to host.  I love decorating for these kind of things and maybe went a tad over the top, but  I wanted to create a beautiful table setting that was unique and different from the traditional red and green colors-something I could keep all the way through the New Year.  I copied this look and added a few of my own ideas.

I found these antique ornaments at a local shop and let the girls each take one

I love baker's twine, and used a typewriter to write words like 'jingle' and 'tidings' for a twist instead of the girls' names for each place setting

The branches are from the trees in my front yard and I simply spray painted them white

I used this same idea, but as the place settings, and it added just a bit of glam.  It was time consuming cutting the foil baking cups and gluing them to paper, but well worth it

The little glass vases I found at Goodwill and Salvation Army are perfect for small flower arrangements, and super cheap

I decided to make my own candles to get the exact look I wanted by using spray paint and applying glitter with modpodge

I bought clay flower pots and spray painted them and added glitter to get the look

Can't wait for my next party to plan!

{DIY :: Bed frame}

When I saw this on pinterest, I knew I wanted to copy the idea of the bed frame for our guest bedroom.  My husband used to do carpentry, so I knew it would be a piece of cake for him.

Items needed: wood, foam, fabric, and staple gun.

The challenging part was making sure the fabric was pulled tight and straight.

Almost finished...

I love how it turned out!  And the final touches: my painted canvases and pillow pull all the details together.

Now, the next item on the house-to-do list, an upholstered headboard.
